Welcome to the group of 'OER: Philosophy, Reality and Implementation'- workshop which will be organized online and at the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja in Ecuador from the 23rd until the 25th of September 2009 (provisional dates). You are welcome to add comments, content (text, video and audio) and engage in discussions in order to help co-organize and faciliate this event.
This group has been created to organize and facilitate the workshop. Some parts and discussions of this workshop will take part online in this group. In addition, experts from various institutions will be invited to give a presentations on Skype video during the workshop. These videos will also be posted here in this group (after consent of the presenters).
Everybody who would like to join this workshop is welcome (whether in Ecuador or online). The workshop will be structured around three parts:
- The first part will provide theoretical, philosophical and ideological pespectives behind various concepts of Open Educational Resources
- The second part will highlight current practice of various OER projects around the world, with a comparison between projects in Africa, South America, Europe and North America
- The third and final part will focus on implementation tools and strategies for new OER initiatives
